I changed the Program Assignment for a student. I got a message that the change cannot be made because the student is still logged in so why does the new operation still appear as if the change was made?
The assignment will remain set to the new operation while the teacher is logged in to the FASTT Math Manager but if the teacher logs out, then logs back in again, the teacher will see that the student has retained the original assignment. |

I know I can change a student who is enrolled in addition (0-9) to (0-12) but can I change a student from (0-12) to (0-9)?
Yes, you just select the 0-9 operation setting and the fact grid for the student will cut off the 10-12 range without making the student take a new assessment. |
 |
Why would I change the setting for the Number of Problems per session?
You may choose to change the number of Problems per Session setting if a student has trouble completing sessions quickly (spends more than 15 minutes on average completing the main session for the day which includes one Fluency Game) or is struggling and becomes frustrated before finishing the session.
Note : The default setting is 70 problems and if the student answers the facts accurately and on time that are presented during the expanding recall model then he/she will be able to turn the study facts into focus facts in one session. If the default setting is changed to 60 or 50 it will take a student more than one Study New Facts session to become fluent in these facts. |
 |
When should a teacher change the Response Time Limit (in student settings) from the default time limit of 1.25 seconds?
After observing the student a the computer to make sure there are not distractions consider modifying the number who consistently have trouble mastering new facts in more than 3 or 4 sessions. |

My machine crashes when I try to present the Award Certificates from my Windows 2000 machine.
The machine could be crashing because the file size is too large. We recommend that whenever possible you set up your laser printer to use PCL instead of Postscript. |

Teacher’s can still log into the FASTT Math Manager, but they can no longer see their classes. What happened?
The classes have most likely become inactive. To see them again click the “Show Inactive Classes” check box at the bottom of the screen. The classes can be made active again by changing the end date in the Add/Edit Classes dialog.
