When can I switch a student to another operation?
A student can be changed to a new operation at anytime that they are NOT logged into the program. However, once the operation has been changed, the students will no longer be able to continue with the current operation.
I know I can change a student who is enrolled in addition (0-9) to (0-12) but can I change a student from (0-12) to (0-9)?
Yes, you just select the 0-9 operation setting and the fact grid for the student will cut off the 10-12 range without making the student take a new assessment.
Why would I change the setting for the Number of Problems per session?
You may choose to change the number of Problems per Session setting if a student has trouble completing sessions quickly (spends more than 15 minutes on average completing the main session for the day which includes one Fluency Game) or is struggling and becomes frustrated before finishing the session. Note : The default setting is 70 problems and if the student answers the facts accurately and on time that are presented during the expanding recall model then he/she will be able to turn the study facts into focus facts in one session. If the default setting is changed to 60 or 50 it will take a student more than one Study New Facts session to become fluent in these facts.
When should a teacher change the Response Time Limit (in student settings) from the default time limit of 1.25 seconds?
After observing the student a the computer to make sure there are not distractions consider modifying the number who consistently have trouble mastering new facts in more than 3 or 4 sessions.
My machine crashes when I try to present the Award Certificates from my Windows 2000 machine.
The machine could be crashing because the file size is too large. We recommend that whenever possible you set up your laser printer to use PCL instead of Postscript.
