Q:I
could not print my register receipt when I launched a Template Store.
A:You are unable to print receipts from
the Template Stores because they are templates. Templates are write-protected,
which means the settings cannot be changed. Follow these instructions
to enable the printing of register receipts:
- Launch Classroom
StoreWorks from the CSW Icon.
- Open Classroom
StoreWorks.
- Click Start
on title screen.
- Click Manage
A Store.
- Select any
store name (such as Groovy Granola Store).
- Click Manage.
- The dialog
box will say, "this is a template store, to manage it, you must
save it with a different name."
- Choose Re-Name.
- Select Save
Store As: "type name of new store here."
- Make adjustments.
- Click Done.
- Then select
Run A Store.
- Select the
store you just created.
- Select Run.
- Open/ complete
tasks/ Done.
- Select the
Register from the top menu bar.
- Check Print
Receipt (or other options).

Q:My
students are running a real store and they are not near a computer
to use Classroom StoreWorks. We want to use Classroom StoreWorks just
to help keep track of inventory, sales, and profits. Since we can't
enter each sale as it takes place, do we still need to use the cash
register in the program? How can we just use this program like a spreadsheet?
A: Sales must be entered via the cash
register. By doing so, it automatically generates a daily sales report
which tracks inventory, sales, and profits.
SUGGESTION: How are students keeping track of the merchandise they
sell? You could assign one student each day (or once a week) to enter
in each sale that occurs during the day (week). Or, you could figure
out the grand total of items sold, and enter this into the register
as one transaction. This way, you will still be keeping track of inventory,
sales, etc.
